Buildings

These are some of the old Soviet buildins in Ulaan Baatar. I loved the old Soviet arcitecture. Everything was very gritty and colorful.

These were the buildings across the road from the train station in Darkhan. The city was still recovering from the fall of communisim when all of the jobs dried up.

The following photos are all of buildings in Sainshand. Sainshand is a large city on the trans-mongolian rail line. It is in the Gobi desert and close to the Chinese border. There wasn't alot of economic activity and the city seemed pretty dried up.

ellen and I really enjoyed exploring the old buildings.

The cultural center in Sainshand.
